Apple Sauce

Ingredients:

Fresh, organic apples. I used ~10 small apples.

Directions:

Wash, peel and core the apples. If you have a juicer, run them through, and then add the pulp back to the juice in a saucepan. Heat thoroughly, stirring constantly. Use an immersion blender to blend the mixture until smooth. Cool and package into small jars or breast milk bags and freeze until ready to use.

Notes:
1. When serving to my 6 1/2-month-old, I mixed about 1/2 ounce of breast milk with 1 Tablespoon of warmed applesauce. If your baby then decides he/she hates applesauce, then you can eat it.
2. Without a juicer, I’d just cut the apples into small pieces and simmer, until mushy, then blending with either an immersion blender or a regular blender.
